A personal intern:

This past work week involved 11-12 hour days from the time I left the apartment to the time I got home. I was so swamped when I was at work that I barely had enough time to run to the water cooler (OK, I admit, I did manage to sneak out to the gym at lunch four times, but that's it). I definitely didn't have time to pick up a very necessary box of contact lenses or to return a purchase, and there was definitely not enough time to try to fit in any work on my sideline business. So, I think it may be time to get my own personal intern. I would willingly give she/he college credit for checking and responding to emails, faxing in requests for price quotes for materials for my dog beds, returning phone calls, as well as refilling my water glass at work and running important errands (like to the brand new Union Square Trader Joe's to get organic raisins and veggie gyoza).
It would definitely be no worse than most internships and I've been told I'm a great boss. Any interested parties out there willing to work for nonexistent pay?

I like the new picture of you in the corner. It looks oddly fifties-ish. (or did the intern picture just make me think that by association???)

Hmmm, interesting. Well, the camera is from the 19060s, so maybe that's it partially. The picture is actually from A's wedding.

If I'm your intern, can I work from the massage chair?

My current job won't let me play "Intern Space Invaders", where you make them line up and shuffle in a left to right motion towards you (they also have to go "merp merp merp"). A particularly disfavored intern is the mother ship, and he/she has to slowly twirl aimlessly in and out of the others. Your job is to "shoot down" the Intern "spaceships" with things from your desk, or shoes/rocks/staplers if you are feeling mean.

Sometimes I miss the business world.

Without getting into a sidebar on Wes' blog, Mondale's game is about dodging people. Mine (which dates back to boarding school: call me Flashman) involves sadistically hitting people with things.

A much more traditionally English game in that regard.

A will do it! He is already interning with cat feeding and orchid watering?

does your intern need to be able to eat yogurt without getting all over himself, you, and all the furniture?

My intern can occasionally work from the massage chair (when I'm not in it) and can play computers games when there is no work to do (and maybe I'll play the intern space invaders game in my free time). However, I was hoping for an application from an attractive French woman.
